THE COACHBUILT STORY

It all started, as most things do, with an idea. Our founder, George Koutsakis, was on a mission to celebrate the art of blending, to bring together all that was great about the world of Scotch into one incredible blend. At the same time George was busy perfecting his recipe a chance introduction to F1 legend, Jenson Button, lead to a conversation around his love of coachbuilding and the similarities between that and the art of blending whisky and Coachbuilt was born.

Tasting Chart & Notes

Aromas of fresh tropical fruit and candy bring you in, while notes of subtle caramel, cinnamon, and dark chocolate lead the palate. The finish is long and dry, led by winter spice and coffee. At 46% ABV expect some power, but feel free to add a little water to unlock further flavours.

From Every Corner of Scotland

In order to give our blend the most depth and complexity, we took whisky from all the regions of Scotch Whisky. Highlands, Speyside, Lowlands, Campbelltown, and the isle of Islay.

Blended by Experience

Our blending team, led by our founder, created numerous recipes with different percentages of malt and grain whisky, in order to find the perfect balance.

Balanced and Brilliant

We wanted a blend with such complexity, that it caters to the connoisseur, but withan elegance and smoothness that would allow even beginners to enter the category, and understand the art and craft behind blended whisky.

Aged to Perfection

After honing in on the perfect recipe for Coachbuilt, we finish the liquid insecond-fill Sherry casks for six months. This, to add an extra layer of flavour to the liquid and to further draw out some existing notes of fruit and spice. The result is the liquid in your glass today.

Drinks International

“When it comes to whisky, though, Button is in it for the long haul, and is already looking forward to longer-aged expressions and limited-edition runs of Coachbuilt in future.”

“Koutsakis and Button are genuinely excited and justifiably proud of the whisky… this first release stands tall as the brand’s flagship expression before the ultra-rare, aged and limited-edition releases that will be coming round the track.”

The Spirits Business

“The whiskies were married in Sherry casks to give notes of summer fruits, subtle spice, toffee, chocolate and a hint of citrus. The finish is said to be long and soft, with fruit, toffee and a touch of smoke.”

GQ

“Blending from five iconic whisky-producing regions of Scotland, Islay, Speyside,
Campbeltown, Highlands and Lowlands, it makes the most of each’s unique flavour
attributes, thus making for a blend with character that far exceeds its years.”
